  • What are psychedelics?
Psychedelics is an umbrella term for certain types of substances that are known for their psychoactive effects, and increasingly for their vast therapeutic potential. They include certain types of plants and fungi, as well as synthetic compounds. Psychedelics have been used since ancient times by various cultures throughout the world for their mystical and spiritual associations.
  • What could this retreat potentially help me with? Is this for mental health issues or rather personal development or curiosity?
Psychedelics have long been known for their potential in supporting personal growth, emotional breakthroughs and spiritual development. They can be beneficial for both personal development and explorations of consciousness as well as the treatment of mental health conditions such as trauma, addiction, a variety of anxieties, and burnout. A psychedelic journey often leads to greater connectedness to oneself, others, nature or the world in general, reduced stress and worry, and a clearer sense of purpose. If you have a specific topic that you’d like to work on, and are unsure if psychedelics are the right way to go, please get in touch with us to discuss if this retreat is right for you.
  • Do I have to have prior experience with psychedelics?
No, previous experience is not required. This is actually a good opportunity to experience psychedelics for the first time because we provide a safe environment and guidance. We’ll give you all the information you need before embarking on this journey, and answer any questions you might have.
  • How does the screening process work? How do you check for medical risks?
Before being accepted, you will fill out a comprehensive screening questionnaire assessing your medical history, psychological and other risk factors, as well as general exclusion criteria such as pregnancy. We will then discuss this screening questionnaire with you in your preparatory session and jointly decide if there’s any reason to postpone your participation.
  • What are your staff’s qualifications?
We are a team of approachable, compassionate and experienced healthcare professionals, psychologists and counsellors. We have facilitated psychedelic journeys with people from all walks of life and have contributed to both meaningful personal growth as well as to improvements and even breakthroughs in mental health. We meet you where you are, and help you get to where you want to be.
  • How many other participants will be there? When do I get to meet them?
We will meet in a small intimate group of 6-8 participants. Two weeks before the retreat, we will have an introductory group call where you’ll already meet the other participants virtually. At the retreat, we’ll spend the first evening together to get to know each other. In choosing participants, we keep an eye on ensuring a harmonious group atmosphere.
  • How safe is this? What are the risks associated with this?
There is little evidence to suggest that experiences with psychedelic substances result in long-term addiction or physical harm. In fact, a growing set of studies indicates that these substances, when taken in a therapeutic setting, can be quite positive for mental health issues. However, as with any substance, there is potential for abuse and harm if not taken safely and under appropriate supervision. We only promote the safe use of psychedelics under the supervision of our expert team in a therapeutic setting.
  • What about scary or “bad” trips?
The likelihood of having a negative experience has been shown to be very low when two conditions are met: the right mindset going into the experience and a comfortable physical setting. We provide both a safe setting and will help you cultivate an open and receptive mindset. Psychedelics are powerful substances that have the potential to cause profound changes in perception and patterns of thinking. They can be unpredictable and, at times, overwhelming for some people. That said, it’s often the difficult journeys that lead to the most significant breakthroughs and long-term benefits. Even difficult experiences can be wonderful opportunities to see life from a new perspective. Experienced professionals can help to minimize the anxiety felt during the experience. They serve as trusted guides and interpreters, while also maximizing the benefit you get from the journey. By creating safe, comfortable environments and helping you establish an open, relaxed mindset, your guides help facilitate a beneficial experience. Should the experience be too overwhelming, we have medication on site that stops the trip.
  • Which philosophy/therapeutic rationale do you follow in your guidance?
We aim to strike a balance between the scientific and the spiritual. Our approach to guiding such experiences comes from years of formal training, the latest scientific research, as well as personal experience. Our guides are trained in psychotherapeutic approaches ranging from cognitive-behavioral therapy to systemic family therapy. We aim to help you expand your human potential. By increasing access to science-backed therapies, we're transforming lives today to transform the world tomorrow. We believe in you. You may be feeling lonely, disconnected, or lost - all of which can be signs of depression or past trauma. No matter what you are going through, we believe in every person’s intrinsic ability to heal. At times, a catalyst is needed to access your healing or breakthrough in your journey. Our combination of psychedelic medicine with integrative sessions may be the catalyst you need.
  • What services do you offer after the retreat?
After the retreat, emphasis is placed on integration. Your guide will support you in making sense of the experience, and getting the most out of it for your everyday life. Together with your guide, you explore themes such as recognizing and understanding your feelings, practicing new behavior, working on your future goals and finding meaning in life. One 1:1 integration session is included in the retreat price. If you’d like to continue the integration work with a guide, that is of course possible.
